Frames – DIY Style

I’ve been keeping my eye on frames for awhile now. I purchase them here and there depending on the cost / value of the ones I encounter. I go to thrift stores because they usually have the best deals on old artwork that have great frames, or fixer-uppers. I even browser eBay for antique frames every now and then but lets face it, people on eBay are going to have the prices set about as high as any other place out there. Bottom line, its not the most ideal place to get a deal on frames. I have plenty of artwork in need of proper framing and hanging. So I started to think, I need an alternative. That’s when the search for DIY tutorials on making my own frames became the most likely option. Wow, there are great number of options out there. I’m now going to officially stop looking to eBay for frames.

Sterling Hundley Illustration

I come across so many talented artists, and its almost overwhelming the amount of talent out there. This site was going to be a site that featured many of these fine artists, but my lack of due diligence has left the blog posts nil on this and my delicious account very active. In an effort to change that though, here is a great and very talented illustrator named Sterling Hundley. His work is filled with great textures, patterns, and an excellent choice of color. I am impressed with a lot of his work. You should check out his site at www.sterlinghundley.com. Also check out his blog and get more information about his process and profession. He refers to his blog as Advice in his navigation so its going to be worth you while if you are interested in illustration and have a desire to learn.

I just came across the great work of illustrator artist Olivier Ponsonnet known as Reiv from France. Really great work and great dramatic lighting effects. Check out Reiv’s site here at re1v.free.fr Just look at this artist’s attention to detail in fabrics and realism. Simply stunning.
