I’ve come across this amazing outdoor time lapse a couple times now. The first time I thought I should post this, but I never did. Luckily it came around the way again.

The award winning Coen brothers worked on this commercial for The Reality Coalition, whichÂ is a project of the Alliance for Climate Protection, Sierra Club, National Wildlife Federation, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the League of Conservation Voters, and tells the truth about coal today â€” it isn’t clean.

Here is a great out door pavilion created by Jiyeon Song that displays poetry at different times of the day and year based on the position of the sun. It is an awesome and well thought out piece for a public park that many will enjoy for years to come I am sure. The fact that you can only see some of the poetry during a specific time and day of the year will make this something that those moved by this work will more than likely visit every year.
The specific arrangements of the perforations reveal different shadow-poems according to the solar calendar: a theme of new-life during the summer solstice, a reflection on the passing of time at the period of the winter solstice.

Today I watched a video created by Saul Bass in 1986 about solar energy. Its interesting how these issues are being raised today and it only took over 2 decades for the discussion to become relevant. Crazy to see the part where the US dollar just crumbles away. See the video at Das Film Festival.
For those of you that don’t know who Saul Bass is, he is a designer known best for his title sequences, did someone say The Shinning.
