About The Site:

This site is a journal for the most part. I have no plans to focus the content. A new site would develop if that was the case. For me, its about posting relevant information to me at the time of posting. My interests are spread throughout the site’s archive, but certainly not limited to. A new category and post can happen at any time. I often get links sent my way that I like to share with others. If I absolutely had to define what the goal of this is, I would say design and art finds, developments of technology related to my career of web design and development, and a place of contact for clients and potential clients to view my past work and to keep up to date with my world one small post at a time. Feel free to explore all that I have posted, and if you are so inclined please send me some feedback.

About The Author:

Ryan Shull has been designing and building websites since 1998. Having graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1999 he went to work for Hart Associates in Maumee, Ohio. Hart Associates prepared Ryan to work in an agency environment with well established clients.  Most noble being La-Z-Boy. Ryan worked on La-Z-Boy’s website where he had the opportunity to developed their “A New Look Of Comfort” microsite.

In the final months of 2002 Ryan joined JN Media as Art Director and started working on projects that had a more youthful audience and the style of work reflected that. JN Media at the time focused on the personal projects for MTV talent Steve-O, Ryan Dunn, and Real World cast members of both the Las Vegas and San Diego casts. While working for JN Media Ryan had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects such as websites, fliers, mailers, DVD covers, DVD menus and video content all distributed under Sony Red Distribution. Los Angeles provided an exciting place to work and live but Ryan was raised in the Midwest and wanted to relocate back to where his family resided.

After returning to Ohio Ryan went to work for a start up agency in Bowling Green, Ohio called Insight Advertising. At first Ryan was the only one at the agency taking on interactive projects and set out to build a team. Soon Ryan hired recent BGSU students who had the skills and knowledge to fit in nicely to Insight’s interactive department. Ryan grew the interactive team to four full time employees with a rotating cast of co-op students.

All good things come to an end and Ryan felt like it was time to move on. Ryan had worked with Bill Klatt at both Hart Associates and Insight Advertising so their work dynamic was well established. This led to the two to form Breakaway Advertising that set out to offer a new approach to advertising in Toledo, Ohio. During their time together they worked on projects for clients like The Toledo Free Press, BGSU’s MBA Program, Mossing Spas and more. This experience taught Ryan more about business and offered a broader set of marketing know how. Things were going well with Breakaway but Ryan and Bill had difference visions for what Breakaway could be. This eventually led the two to split ways, but things were left on great terms and Ryan will consult with Breakaway in the future on their projects as they need.

Although Ryan is from a small town he loves the city life. Finally given in to his friend’s requests of “you should move to Cleveland”, Ryan packed things up and headed east. Ryan is now residing in Cleveland and looks forward to finding the right team of creative peers to make creative, visually appealing, and interesting projects. Ryan is excited about what the future offers.
