Impromtu Love

Posted by ryan as Fun & Games, Inspiring, Interweb, Music

I absolutely love the Impomptu shows that Current.tv and La Blogotheque are doing together. They follow an artist into a public setting and film a sort of raw music video. The reactions of onlookers are genuine and how awesome would it be to present at one of these live jams.

iDaft & Ron Winter Drums

Posted by ryan as Fun & Games, Music

The sound bite button is not anything new. In fact they can be quite entertaining. The Arnold Swatzenager sound board is a classic. Not sure this is the first one but good none the less. So it was a nice surprise to come across another sound board that was as entertaining and fun to play with. I give you, www.najle.com/idaft/ This is so much fun provided you are into Daft Punk.

Ok, ok, this post just got a second half. Check out this sound board http://ronwinter.tv/drums.html. This one kicks some serious butt too. It’s like dajam!

Mario Kart Wii Online Cheating Ruining Game

Posted by ryan as Bummer, Fun & Games, Interweb

So I’ve told a lot of people about how much fun it is to play online in Mario Kart Wii. Well, if you get the right group of people then you can have a great time. Recently though, I’ve been playing with people who are cheating. They either have infinite invisibility, always giant, or blue shells of doom. Its not cool. Man, people are gonna do what people are going to do, but me… I’m just logging off.

Everything Is Bigger In Texas

Posted by ryan as Fun & Games, News

So I just returned from an extended weekend in Dallas, Texas. I had a great time. The first night there we had some beers and caught up. It was great to hear how everyone was doing these days. It’s remarkable that we stayed up until 5 a.m.. My friend Joe and his girlfriend Natasha had just flown in from London and were just starting their trans Atlantic flight 2.5 hours before I went to bed at 2:30 a.m..

So that’s 18hrs of travel before our flight to Dallas at 3:30 p.m. departed. Of course the weather in Detroit was horrible and we had a 3 hour delay. North West Airlines kept changing the departure time in 15 minute intervals so the wait was to grab a beer, slam it, go here, hurry hurry, wait some more, go, stop, go. Never knowing when the actual time was going to happen. It was the most frustrating part of the whole trip. NWA was very disrespectful of our use of time and should have just set a better more realistic time in which we would depart. So if you are following that’s 21 hours of travel before we leave Detroit.

It was a great weekend overall. To prevent this post from getting too long I’ll just wrap it up with a few links. Saturday night we all traveled in a large cargo van and had a rented driver to Fort Worth. FW is not far from Dallas. We went to the Sundance Square part of FW. It was a nice quaint downtown. We went to a bar with an excellent selection of beers on tap called the Flying Saucer. The waitresses uniforms were great as well.

Another great pub that had incredible waitress uniforms and just overall great vibe and environment is Lochrann’s Irish Pub. I’ll be returning to this one the next time I’m in the Dallas area.

Lastly I am thankful that my host John was such an incredible host. Both his wife Donna and him were so great. They provided more alcohol and food than a group of 10 really going at it could devour. Now that is impressive planning and preparation that did not go unnoticed and appreciated.
