Apple Tablet A Long Time Apple Idea

Posted by ryan as Apple, Design, Designer, Technology

Wired’s Gadget section has a report on Apple’s never to market tablet from 1983 as developed by Frog Design. The rumors about the tablet have been around forever, I just never had a clue that the idea was on the table for as long as it has been for Apple. After seeing this it really makes predicting Apple’s release of the so called iSlate / iTablet / iPad even easier. I can’t wait to see what they unveil this coming Wednesday, January 27th.

What Is A Browser?

Posted by ryan as Interweb, Technology, Web Devlopment

It both amazes me on some levels that people don’t know what a browser is, and on the other hand makes perfect sense. It really explains why the education process for my job with clients is so crucial. For the record, this is hosted by Google and they love it when people do not know the difference between a search engine and a browser. What a great opportunity for them to capitalize on the the general public’s’ ignorance and get them using their browser Chrome. Which coincidentally is based off of webkit, the open source browser being developed by many people including Apple who use if for their browser Safari.  In my opinion though the best browser out there and one that supports the latest in web standards and allows for serious customization, Firefox.

Google Leaving The Censorship Business

Posted by ryan as Interweb, News, Serious Nod, Technology, War on the Internet

I’ve recently read that Google has made the decision to no longer censor google.cn. They also plan to leave the country and kill the domain if needed. That is if they can not operate under China’s conditions and laws. I applaud this as helping any government to censor information is ridiculous for any American company. Read about their decision from Google’s blog.

New Smart Phones Compared

Posted by ryan as Apple, Technology

I just came across this graphical chart from www.billsource.com on how the new smart phones compare. I have already bought an iPhone Gs and its suppose to arrive by the 19th. No lines, no wait. Its a nice set up. Smart on Apple’s part to make it easy and help get them out in a quicker distribution method. Even a few at a time. I’m sure I’m not alone in having already bought a new phone.

I’m not sure how many of my readers follow the Epicly Later’d series of Guy Mariano, but its great. I’ve been seriously inspired by Guy’s skating ever since I became aware of skateboarding. I used to watch his Public Domain part and go out and attack Bradner the best I could. Ha. Seriously though, you need to watch the 10 part series if you haven’t already. For those that have, I know you will want to watch it all again. So get clicking. All of these are of course on www.vbs.tv and you should definitely look into all of the videos they have posted. Great stuff.
